Scarlett Johansson Is GQ's Babe Of The Year

Busty blonde bombshell Scarlett Johansson has been named GQ Babe of the Year 2010 in December's issue. Surprising? Not so much, she is so beautiful that it makes me sick she doesn't show more than some cleavage! Anyway, GQ magazine announced on Monday that actress Scarlett Johansson has been named Babe of the Year in their new issue, which hits newsstands on November 23rd. The 26-year-old starlet poses in languorous photos on the cover and inside the men's mag, the Men of the Year issue, which doubles as the Babe of the Year edition. She appears in a sexy spread in issue, posing in just a bathing suit for a steamy shoot. The magazine writes:
"The Megans and Milas and Blakes may come and go with the usual ebb and flow of the multiplex, but our (somewhat unhealthy) fascination with one woman endures."

"At 26, she remains fresh-faced, curious, trying on new moods and outlets of expression as easily as she changes her hair color. This is what we love about Scarlett: that she's game, that she's good, that she can try on all these guises without seeming to try too hard. And all the while still seem genuinely like the observant, inquisitive (and very cute) girl in transition we fell for in 'Lost in Translation.'"

You can read the full story in GQ's December issue, which will be on newsstands soon. So you agree with their pick? I think it's pretty good. As one of the highest honors a gal in Hollywood can ever receive, Scarlett Johansson is going to be living it up until next year. Enjoy! Click on pictures to enlarge.

Facebook is Not Your Blog

Last week, one of the most-clicked stories from SmartBrief on Social Media was an article from Advertising Age: What Happens When Facebook Trumps Your Brand Site? It’s a legitimate concern for businesses. With millions of people using Facebook and that number growing every day, brands like Coca-Cola, Victoria’s Secret, and Oreo are getting more Facebook traffic than they are getting traffic to their home websites. According to reports, there are nearly 40 fan pages with at least a million Facebook fans, or “likes” as they’re calling ‘em these days, whatever. The point is that Facebook might not be around forever, but right now, they are securing controlling the social networking market.

And Facebook fan pages aren’t even search engine optimized.

What does this mean for you? Well, as a blogger, if you aren’t on Facebook, you’re likely missing out on connecting with a huge number of fans. At the same time, I see Advertising Age’s articles as a bit of an eye-opening warning. There is such a thing as too much Facebook success. Or rather, there is such a thing as not using Facebook success correctly.

The problem lies with not using Facebook as a way to encourage people to visit your website. That’s all fine if you’re like Coke and your main goal is to sell more soda. Whether someone visits your website or your Facebook page, they’re interacting with your company, and you’re going to sell more soda. But as bloggers, most of use aren’t selling products at retail locations. We sell products on our blogs or, at the very least, we make advertising money from our blogs.

You can’t make money that way on Facebook.

The disconnect comes when fans of your blog don’t actually need to visit it, because you repost everything on Facebook. I’m not talking about links – I’m talking about full content, contest information, updates and site news, etc. Why should they visit your actual blog if everything there (minus the ads/products) is on Facebook too?

I guess, the point I’m trying to make is this: Facebook is not your blog. Heck, you don’t even own your Facebook page if you want to get technical. If Facebook were to implode tomorrow and you were to lose access to all those “likes,” how many people would even remember your blog? Yes, Facebook is a great tool for bloggers, but we need to think of this site as an outpost to our websites, and the point behind every update should be to drive more traffic back to our blogs.

Hills Cast Secretly Cozy When Cameras Aren't Rolling

They may get catty with each other, and then some, when the cameras are rolling but after hours, The Hills cast is more cozy than they might want you to know.
RadarOnline.com caught the group – Kristen Cavallari, Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge, Stephanie Pratt, Frankie Delgado and even The City’s Whitney Port – enjoying themselves late into the night at Hyde Lounge at L.A.'s Staples Center Saturday night.
The MTV stars had been out enjoying KISS-FM’s all day Wango Tango concert at the adjoining L.A. Live arena. That's where we spotted on-screen rivals Kristen Cavallari and Stephanie Pratt dancing together like best friends as they watched Ryan Cabrera rock out on-stage.
RadarOnline.com also eyed Brody Jenner and Stephanie Pratt looking as thick as thieves. The longtime friends and sometimes on-screen enemies linked arms and lead their merry band of reality revelers from Wango Tango's back stage area to the ultra exclusive Hyde Lounge.
The Hills cast spent their night dancing and drinking inside Hyde’s completely curtained-off VIP section. But there was no hiding from RadarOnline.com! We caught them doing group shots and even group hugs!

Stephanie Pratt and John Hansen: New Couple?

Spotted: Stephanie and John Hansen out and about in Malibu. This is the second time they've been seen together in a week. The first was at the 'Letters to Juliet' premiere. What do you think - are they dating in real life, dating for 'The Hills' or simply just friends?
Here's a short bio on John from wikepedia:
Josh Hansen (born February 16, 1984) is an American professional motocross racer. The son of retired motocross champion Donnie Hansen, he is best known for winning the gold medal for Supercross at the Summer X Games for two consecutive years. Hansen currently rides a Kawasaki 250F for the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit team.
Hansen received his first motocross bike at five, and began racing competitively at eight. He spent his early years touring the country with his family, winning numerous amateur titles in national competitions as his father conducted a motocross academy. At 17, he went professional.
The Hansens are the first father-son duo in the AMA Supercross record book.

Where I work: Kelly Cutrone

By Victoria Granthamny
Job Head of the fashion p.r. firm People’s Revolution, star of Bravo’s reality show “Kell on Earth,” author of the best-selling biz guide “If You Have To Cry, Go Outside” and single mom.
Known for her hard-driving approach, the Syracuse-born diva embodies a particular brand of straight talk. Her wish for readers of her book, she writes: to “go balls out and follow your dreams.”
Dressed in one of her signature all-black ensembles — size 8 DKNY swing sweater, HUE leggings and $800 Stella McCartney zebra-striped boots — the foul-mouthed fashionista has a disheveled, witchy appearance that’s more rocker than publicist. It’s a look she calls “Amish psycho killer.”
Décor Cutrone moved into a building on Grand Street in in SoHo 2001, when she was pregnant with her daughter Ava, and she’s gradually spread herself across four stories. She uses one as her home, two for work and sublets the fourth.
A rickety elevator opens onto a heavy iron door on three, which leads into the communal office she calls a “Temple of Now,” presumably a reference to her team’s constant, hyperkinetic activity. Samples, collections and papers are piled everywhere, and a half-dozen 20-somethings zoom around prepping for a Nylon Magazine Young Hollywood shindig, as a film crew wedges itself between and behind them to capture the madness.
Desk A giant rectangular white laminate table she shares with her entire staff. She presides over the head, and employees line both sides. “I had this built by two Korean architects. I paid way too much money,” she says with a shrug.
Detritus If she wasn’t tied up with her reality show, Cutrone could qualify for A&E’s new program “Hoarders.” She has collections of all sorts — statues of deities, ethnically diverse dolls, bejeweled kaleidoscopes, idiosyncratic gifts from fans and clients’ products (including vibrators and condoms) — sprinkled throughout.
The power publicist also seems to collect people. A 28-year-old New York version of Kato Kaelin lives with her. “He’s not my lover,” she notes, “but he is a jujitsu expert.” Patty Pao, a Harvard MBA she met on a plane, now runs a consulting business out of the space. “She’s so smart. I wanted her brain in residence.”
Work style Interestingly, Cutrone is big on old-school thank-you notes. She has cards imprinted with jesters, jugglers and other whimsical characters, and says she routinely breaks out a feather pen and hot wax to express gratitude.
Commute Cutrone’s morning commute involves riding an elevator from one floor to the next, but to get to meetings she hops on her bike. Though she refuses to incorporate anything beyond black and white into her wardrobe (“I look like I’m trying to do too much if I’m in color”), she rides a turquoise Trek with a white basket around town. In fact, she loves it so much she bought bikes for everyone in her office. Biking, she says, is “an irresistible mix of connecting to the Earth, plus danger, plus terrorism.”
Routine While Cutrone is short on details about her work hours and daily habits, her book describes working “every breathing moment” to get to where she is, and she gives no appearance of having slowed down.
In addition to starring in her show and running her business — which involves regular visits to an LA office — Cutrone travels around the country to promote herself and her book. She speaks at colleges — “for free,” she notes with some annoyance.
What’s next Cutrone’s working on a deal for a scripted show. She plans to announce details next week.

I'm all for a scripted show but I hope this doesn't mean we've seen the last of 'Kell on Earth.' Last I heard Bravo hadn’t renewed it for a second season yet but I'm still been holding out hope.

Inside Heidi & Spencer’s Twisted Marriage

It’s no secret that The Hills stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag put their need for fame and money before everything else. Now, on the verge of Heidi’s 13th plastic surgery, OK!’s takes a look into their twisted marriage.
Heidi’s recent revelation that she plans to undergo her 13th major plastic surgery has her family and friends reeling. Aghast that Heidi, 23, would risk her life by going under the knife for her third breast augmentation, they’re blaming her husband, Spencer, for exploiting Heidi’s insecurity and encouraging her to have surgeries for publicity.
“I always used to think of Heidi as independent, but she’s become Spencer’s little blonde puppet,” says a Hills insider and former friend of Heidi. “Here she was, a smart, beautiful girl, and she’s changed herself so much that she’s almost unrecognizable.”
Spencer, 26, insists that he is opposed to her surgeries.
“I’m not in charge of anything she does with any part of her body. I’m her husband — not her owner,” he said after she underwent 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day
But insiders say Spencer has manipulated every other part of Heidi’s life from the day they met, so it seems likely that he could talk her out of more surgery if he really wanted to.
“Spencer has a knack for figuring out someone’s weaknesses and exploiting them. He knows how to push Heidi’s buttons,” says the friend. “She’s wrapped around his finger. She does whatever Spencer wants her to do.”
In addition to enabling Heidi’s plastic surgery obsession, the friend accuses Spencer of isolating Heidi from her family and friends — who might have been able to reason with her — to keep her under his control.
“He made Heidi give up all her friends for him. He even made her pick between her family and him,” says the friend. “I have seen Heidi cry because she doesn’t know what to do. But everyone who has tried to intervene gets cut from her life.”
Adds another source, “Spencer’s nuts. He picks fights with friends and family because he thinks everyone has ‘bad energy.’ ”

Fashion Focus: Olivia Palermo

She may not possess the sweetest social graces but The City's Olivia Palermo has got her fashion cues down to a fine art. Stealing the style crown (and a job) from co-star Whitney Port, the catty DvF 'employee' is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to her polished sartorial sensibilites.
Never a hair out of place, this 23-year-old fashionista always manages to pleasantly surprise us with her quintessential NY city-girl apparel. So Olivia, as our new style crush here is our homage to your covetable wardrobe..

Embracing masculine tailoring at the Two Lovers premiere in February and ahead of the fash-pack in an asymmetric number during March last year.

Going girly in a Zac Posen frock and Zara waistcoat and popping in a bold yellow dress with emerald necklace and feathered clutch at yet another screening (wow, we never took her for such a film buff!). And on the right, working her favourite colour - black - in a sheer top and high-waisted shorts for Audrey Hepburn-style sophistication.

Brooching up in an LBD at a launch party in New York and throwing a wet-look jacket over this romantic ruffled hem dress for an after party last week. Notew: the girl loves her diamond earring - essential socialite jewelling.
And here's Olivia sporting some super on-trend harem pants (in champagne white for the very chicest of It Girls) by Reiss, available at ASOS here.
